Perth Local Reviews

Gordon St Garage: Coffee Bar/ Kitchen (03.06.14)

One word Yum. Obsessed! I get all my coffees, cakes and juices from here, I am lucky in that it is right round the corner from work. With cool decor, friendly staff, yummy breakfast choices, fresh juices, killer coffee, freshly baked treats and even a kick ass ham and cheese toasties, the Gordon St Cafe is a place you have to try.

4/5 recommended for awesome style, location and simple, small and tasty menu.

La Cholita - Northbridge (13.09.13)
Mexican restaurant in Northbridge, noisy, vibrant and energetic, showing the fun and not so oily size of Mexican cooking. Margaritas are their speciality and went down a little to easily on my visit. Must try the watermelon salad, fruity fresh and strangely savoury I will be returning just for this salad. This salad was followed by some kick ass zingy guacamole and another margarita. Only complaint so far was that the champagne glasses were to small. Other dishes which we had was rump steak, street corn and cauliflower and Parmesan side dish.
3/5 (Little bit to noisy but great fun and great food).

Luxe Spa on Kensington (04.10.13)
Taken on the most awesome date by my man to the Luxe Spa on Kensignton in East Perth. A hidden gem in east Perth, luxe spa on Kensignton is sophisticated, elegant and decadent. Recently opened this day spa and accommodation is perfect escape for couples at an affordable price, in the perfect location with short stroll from restraunts pubs and the central business district. Our stay included a full body massage, a stay in the Queen Suite, Champagne, chocolates and rose petals on the bed. I will be returning to this occasion and trying a different massage technique, perfect for gifts for couples or just a private escape.
Highly recommend for its quietness, location and business idea, 4/5 (quiet and small)

The Royal Pub and Restaurant East Perth (04.10.13)
Following our massage treatments at the Luxe Spa on Kensington i was treated even further to dinner and drinks at The Royal Restaurant and Pub. With a beautiful outlook over the inlet in East Perth and fantastic service our dinner started with smooth Spanish Blend Boozeto de evopto 2011, a red wine that went down far to easily. Starters were garlic ciabatta bread (portion size could feed minimum 4 we struggled with the 2 of us) and char grilled prawns on bed of mashed potato and tomato relish. Main was highlight for myself as i demolishes grilled Lamb marinated in a Merlot jue, roasted veggies and garlic cream sauce, see photo bellow. As if that wasn't bellow we some how found room for killer baileys cheesecake, see photo bellow.
We left the restaurant semi boozey, full and delighted with meal, will be returning for wine and lamb :) 4/5)

Foam Leederville
I am totally in love with this coffee joint and would go there just for the atmosphere and fun design. Describing themselves as the new kid on the block in Oxford Street, you have to visit for one of best coffees in Leederville along with tempting cakes and breakfast menu that gives you an excuse to visit on a Sunday Morning. Try their homemade muesli with banana, mixed berries, dried figs, nuts yogurt and honey ($8.5, and wash it down with a Dark Horse house blend skinny flat white ($4.0) HEAVEN.
Simple, classic and Fun(5/5)
